Mondays are my favorite day! I try hard to not have outside appointments so I can focus on my own needs! I use the time to prep for the week. Finding those empty holes where I can insert a lunch with friends or a last minute coaching call. What’s your Monday routine? How do you spend your Mondays or is there another day where you set up your week?

January seems as good a time as any to reintroduce myself. I’m Lorri Moffatt. A small towns Methodist minister’s daughter. I have moved 27 times! I have lived in GA, SC, CA, & FL and now again live in my birthplace and hometown, Augusta, GA, Celebrating 25 years of marriage to my sweet Bryan this year, we share our birthday! A mom of two boys, 21 next week & 18 1/2. Will, a junior & economics major -just under two hours away and Steven, began college on the far side of Atlanta, GA leaving B and I became newbie empty nesters last fall. We have a blind, 8 year old cocker spaniel, Mocha Any other new empty nesters here?

I have long loved the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs and The Masters in Augusta. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. My family lives within 80 miles of each other. Makes for cherished, big gatherings at holidays. I also have gotten into researching and documenting my family’s ancestry tree. I have worked to one of my 11th Great Grandfathers. Born in 1585 in Somerset, England! Have you done family tree work?

I like words & talking, always have. My report cards until high school were all A’s. Except Conduct. Almost always unsatisfactory. I think my love for talking has become an asset instead of the liability my teachers saw. I have used it as a mortgage loan processor, journaling, scrapbooking, teacher, and yearbook sponsor. I worked for a newspaper in sales, setting up the layout and covering local sports! I certainly use it now too. Friends, peers, and coworkers often come to me for help with an email, letter or for conflict resolution. Do you ever wish you had someone who could help you with verbiage?

I understood and respected the direct sales industry long before it transitioned to a more social selling model. As a Presidential Founder & Senior Executive Director with Color Street, I am currently working hard on National Executive Director! {we all need scary goals, right?} I love my Color Street team, job and business! It’s a large team, our international group of about 5000 on teamSHINE, started from before Color Street opened. Yup, I joined a little over two months before we launched on June 12, 2017! What did you learn about me?

Sigh! Our nest is empty yet again. It’s such a sweet and strange time. This is the third time with both our boys being away at college. August, Thanksgiving and then over Christmas break. I won’t say it has gotten easier but at least now I know what to expect when the quiet that comes. One of the best things we did the first time was NOT come back home after dropping our youngest at school but opting to go on a vacation first. I highly encourage it!

Symptoms of an empty nester are:

As 2021 was inching towards ending, I realized I h

As 2021 was inching towards ending, I realized I had time to check something off my bucket list. 🪣 I had a passport but not one stamp! My sister joined me in a trip to Montreal! Color Street launched in Canada this fall so we could make it a work/play trip! We discovered a sweet little neighborhood and emersed ourselves there. Walking to eat, sight see, & catch the metro to shop. It was all so easy! Montreal has a massive underground commerce city. 🚇

I’d had a weird year and needed a change of pace, scenery, and focus. What I needed from the trip impacted my business, but it was very personal. IDK, maybe that is why I haven’t really shared that much about it. But as I was prepping to talk about 2021: I realize the week up north was a huge piece of peace for me! I had misplaced my peace and I had to go hunting to find it. 🕊

2021 business highlights start at the very beginning of the year. I earned an all-inclusive trip to Punta Cana which is happening in April 2022. I organized three team retreats in person, hosted several trainings beyond our team, Color Street celebrated our 4th anniversary and held our national conference in Orlando. teamSHINE grew by 1,800 stylist and collectively we sold $16,433,000 in nail strips. 💴

Our family hit several milestones in 2021 too. We redecorated the bonus room, all the Moffatt men got their vehicles upgraded, we toured colleges with our youngest and by mid-August they were both out of the nest enrolled in classes. We celebrated the Braves winning the World series in person watching them win game 3. 🏆
