As soon as the Stay at Home order for SC was lifted, I found a spot on the water to shelter in place with a different view. It was beautiful and tranquil. The Little River rose and fell with the tide and we could see the ocean too! We ordered groceries in and the boys used the extra room to spread out. I used the time to read, finish some research and reflect on how weird and awkward business had been through having our headquarters in NJ during the first weeks of the Covid 19 season in the US.
The last full day we were there was stormy. I took full advantage of the laziness available. As the storm rolled in and then out, I began to think and write about the sunrise. I wanted to share with my Color Street team. It was well received and applicable to life so I thought I would share it here.
Good morning team. The sun isn’t even up here yet but I woke up thinking of you all. Whew. Owning a business is tough.
Here in Cherry Grove Beach, SC – It’s cloudy today. We are missing the sun rise. It’s totally going to storm for a couple hours this morning.
Ya know what? That hinders the view, it tempers the amount of light, and can even keep you from enjoying some fun activities. But guess what? Yup, beyond all that? The sun is still rising. It will set tonight and rise again tomorrow.
Listen, You’re already here. You’ve built a community. You already know your team. Lasty, you have already had time to get to know and trust that Fa is brilliant, driven, motivated and truly has ‘never given up’ more than anyone I’ve ever known. They’ll figure it all out. They’ll do their best to make things right as much as they can.
Imagine your frustration on a bigger scale. Corporate has customers too. Us. We’re trying to order and they is having trouble getting it to us. It’s not different. Make no mistake, Mr. Park gets what we’re feeling, saying and asking for. In other words, we don’t have to try to get corporate to understand. In short, they do.
Your team’s leaders do too. We’re in the trenches with you. We all have our own businesses, our own VIP spaces, our events were canceled, and we use the exact same system as everyone. Above all, we’re here for you.
I’m not trying to minimize the effect the out of stocks or the site issues have on us all. It matters. Even though we’re not brand new anymore, this season isn’t completely unlike launching a new company. There’s a reason start up opportunities aren’t for everyone. It is true, not everyone makes it. As a result, those that decide to hang in there, make the most of the demand will be glad they didn’t quit.
Hang in there. Hug your kiddos or fur babies. Read a new book or a favorite again. Protect your mind and heart so that you’ll be ready to build and grow. We still offer a solution to a problem. Lastly, the opportunity is still grand.
The sun will rise again. ☀️
Shine on. {LGM}
